What is the KinderBlox Project?

The KinderBlox Project was a program we started to help support schools and educational organizations who would like to have a set of StoryBlox? but were unable to afford it. For every 10 sets of Build-Your-Own-StoryBlox? sold, Customized Data Solutions, the makers of StoryBlox?, donated one set to a classroom or nursery (randomly selected from the list of applicants). See the main KinderBlox Project page for more information. The program was discontinued when we stopped making the Build-Your-Own-Story block sets.

How can I help?

If you know a school or organization that would benefit from this program, please send them a link to the main KinderBlox Project page, or to the Application Information page, so that they can apply.

As a consumer, the best way to help with this project is to buy one or more sets of Build-Your-Own-StoryBlox?. For every ten sets sold, one set of blocks will be donated to an applicant.  Another great way to help is to tell everyone you know about StoryBlox? and encourage them to buy a Build-Your-Own-StoryBlox? for themselves.

Do you accept donations?

No, not at this time.  Customized Data Solutions (the parent company of StoryBlox?) is a company, not a non-profit organization, and therefore cannot accept donations.  If you are interested in donating money to help students, there are a great number of wonderful non-profit organizations setup to help educators and children, and we encourage you to donate to one of these organizations.

If you are interested in sending a set of StoryBlox? to a specific school, however, you are welcome to contact the school about purchasing a set on their behalf.  We are always willing to ship to gift addresses, just please check with the organization first, verify the mailing address and make sure the recipient knows to be looking for a package from StoryBlox?.

Can I specify a school with my purchase?

No.  When a school's application is approved, they are added to a list.  Each time the counter reaches 0, one appilcant is randomly selected to receive a set of blocks.  We believe this is the most fair method.

There is one exception to this policy.  If your organization chooses, they can opt for a group buy option instead of being added to the Kinderblox Project list.  In these situations, the school or organization is responsible for gathering and submitting orders in their own area.  Using this method, a large order is placed by the school or organization, usually on behalf of parents in their school, and all sets are shipped to the school.  The school is then responsible for distributing the orders.  For every 10 sets on the order, the school/organization will get an extra set to keep for themselves.

Please note that StoryBlox™ is *not* a non-profit organization. Since donations are based on the number of sets sold, StoryBlox™ cannot guarantee that every applicant that is accepted will receive a set of blocks. StoryBlox™ reserves the right to deny any application, for any reason, and this program is subject to cancellation at any time. If we decide to cancel this program, and the counter is above 0, the program will be continued until it has reached 10 again and one final set has been donated.
